In the employer’s or recruiter’s shoes
Organizations and companies, both public and private, are looking for graduates with skills, in other words a mix of:
Knowledge: theoretical or academic knowledge in a specific field, (e.g.: knowledge in law, economics, etc.);
Know-how: concrete technical abilities to carry out specific tasks, (e.g.: carrying out an audit, writing a contract, computer programming, etc.);
Soft skills: behavioral skills, which are essential for success in the professional world, (e.g.: exemplarity, creativity, decision-making in crisis situations, team spirit, etc.).
So, each recruitment process aims to select the candidate who possesses the greatest number of skills required for the job. Therefore, it will be up to you to convince the recruiter that you possess those skills and furthermore that you will be able to use them effectively while carrying out your tasks.
